My base rate is $45/hour. Generally a new website can take anywhere from 10-40 hours to set up depending on the design, type and content. A large website with a lot of photos and formatting could take 80-100 hours. If you want a flat fee instead of an hourly rate, I will base my rate based on how long I expect the project to take.
For reference, what you can expect from flat rate pricing, as a minimum (prices may increase based on needs of client):
$450 – 1 page basic website
$650 – multi page basic website
$950 – multi page website with additional features or design work
$1450 – multi page website with full e-commerce store (subject to increase based on number of products sold)
I do sometimes take on work for part trade, if that is something you are interested in please contact me using the form below for more information.
How to get started
First, decide on a host. I recommend WPEngine.com to all of my clients. At $29/month ($25/month if paying annually) you get built in security, a fast website, great technical support, daily backups (each stored for 1 month) and free migration if you already have a site. If you decide to redesign your website in a few years or add extra features that need to be tested first, there’s no downtime for your current site. They give you a testing platform to redesign your site and push that to live when you are ready. And if you need a second website you can add another on for just $15/month.

For those looking for a more budget friendly option, I’ve been building websites on Bluehost.com for years and their customer and tech support is quite good. Bluehost also has much more affordable options for multiple domains & hosting upgrades if you want an e-commerce site or just a faster loading time.
